Drake Curse Strikes Again as Rapper Loses Over $500К on Sports Bets
Over the years, Drake has developed quite a habit for sports betting, which has often led to him losing much more than the recent half-million

Grammy Award-winning rapper Drake wagered more than $250,000 on the Baltimore Ravens and also placed a $300,000 bet on Jannik Sinner to win the US Open title, but it seems that the infamous “Drake curse” has struck again as both Sinner and the Ravens lost over the weekend.
Drake Bets on Sinner and the Baltimore Ravens – Both Lose
The artist is famous not just for his music but also for his love of placing high-stakes bets. Over time, this hobby has sparked a running joke on social media: whenever Drake backs a team or athlete, it’s seen as a bad omen, almost guaranteeing their downfall.
Drake’s rough betting day kicked off in New York City at the US Open final. He placed a $300,000 wager on Sinner, prompting some to start already talking about the Drake curse. Their predictions came true as Alcaraz defeated Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to win the championship and secure the final Grand Slam title of the year.
Ravens have also seemingly suffered from the Drake curse, as the Buffalo Bills defeated the Baltimore Ravens by just one point. Interestingly, things started well for Drake’s chosen team was leading up until the scoreboard read 40-25 for the Ravens. However, that’s the moment when the Drake curse seemingly started as Buffalo narrowed the gap late in the game with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen to Keon Coleman, leaving 3:56 on the clock. Baltimore regained possession with a 40-32 lead, but disaster struck when star running back Derrick Henry fumbled on the second play of the drive, handing the ball back to the Bills at the Ravens’ 41-yard line with 3:10 remaining.
Later, Allen punched in a 1-yard touchdown, trimming the lead to 40-38 after a failed two-point attempt. On Baltimore’s next drive, they managed seven yards in three plays and were forced to punt, giving the ball back to Buffalo with 1:33 left. The Bills then marched 66 yards in nine plays, setting up a game-winning 32-yard field goal as time expired. The final result saw the Bills beat the Ravens by just one point at 41-40.
Drake Is a Prolific Sports Bettor
Over the years, Drake has developed quite a habit for sports betting, which has often led to him losing much more than the recent half-million. However, the rapper seems to be aware of the potential dangers of betting and losing huge amounts, as earlier in the summer, Drake opened up about the risks of gambling after losing a whopping $8 million in just one month.
Despite that, he still seems to enjoy sports betting. And while many have said he has the “Drake curse,” the artist has previously denied these allegations, claiming instead that his losses were simply a result of a flawed betting strategy.
