Drake bets $300,000 on the US Open, Netizens Worry about the Drake Curse
Drake, one of Canada’s more popular musicians and a five-time Grammy winner, isn’t only famous for his music career

He is also believed to be carrying a curse. Over the last couple of years, he has gained a bit of a notorious reputation when it comes to sports betting. Despite having won more money than he has lost, the sports bets he makes have become synonymous with the belief that whenever he bets on the favorite, they end up losing.
If Drake Bets on You, You Will Lose Your Next Game
Despite 81 bets on 57 individual events since 2022, only nine instances have been attributed to the curse. People have blamed the curse for several major losses over the last few years, but the Internet has remained reasonable, not nitpicking on every bet that Drake has placed – mostly those that have seen the rapper bet hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The rapper has made jokes about the whole thing, saying he isn’t cursed but acknowledged that he was a “flawed” sports bettor, and advised anyone who may be paying attention not to gamble the same way he has been.
His losses vary across a multitude of sports. Yet, it is mostly his UFC and NBA flutters that have been tied to the infamous Drake curse. He has lost bets on other sports too, like the one on last year’s US Open, where he bet on Taylor Fritz to beat Jannik Sinner and lost $210,000.
Later during the Australia Open in January, he regained some of his losses with a bet on Sinner winning him $345,000, resulting in him being down only $115,000 on all of publicly recorded tennis bets.
Drake Bets Big on Sinner Stopping Alcaraz’s Hot Streak
His newest bet of $300,000 is once again on Jannik Sinner, the current holder of the US Open, which has drawn the attention of many media outlets, many of whom are wondering if he will be the next “victim” of the curse.
There is a possibility that Sinner could face Carlos Alcaraz, an opponent thought to be the only one truly capable of challenging him and his ongoing hot streak, having dropped only one set in the US Open so far.
