DraftKings Opens Second Venue in New Hampshire, Signs Partnership with Chicago Cubs
DraftKings reveals a new sportsbook location in Manchester, New Hampshire. The company also announced a key partnership with The Chicago Cubs, making DraftKings an official and exclusive sports betting and daily fantasy partner.
DraftKings’ Second Retail Location in New Hampshire
The digital sports entertainment and gaming company DraftKings announced today the opening of a new retail sportsbook in New Hampshire. The new venue, located at 1279 South Willow St. in Manchester, New Hampshire will be the second retail sportsbook of the company. The new location has been voted top bar and restaurant in the state for three years in a row. With that in mind, the DraftKings’ new retail will undoubtedly offer a unique player experience.
The new location by DraftKings is positioned within South Side Tavern’s sports bar. It will feature betting kiosks and wall-to-wall TVs. The 40,000 square-foot property will welcome both large and small groups. Recently, the property was renovated for the staggering $2.5 million.A part of the renovation included a brand new HVAC air filtration system.
In its statement, DraftKings also said that the new location will take the necessary precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Gaming equipment will be disinfected throughout the day and both employees and guests will be required to wear masks.
The New Location Is the Result of Collaborative Effort
Matt Kalish, Co-Founder and President, DraftKings North America said in a statement: “We are proud to reveal DraftKings’ latest collaborative effort with the New Hampshire Lottery – DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester.” He added that for the first time in Manchester, customers will be able to place retail bets on their favorite sports while watching the games live. “Our New Hampshire customers continue to get to know the DraftKings brand, which has a reputation for a world-class and intuitive betting experience,” concluded Kalish.
Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery said that the Lottery is pleased to work with DraftKings. “Already one of New Hampshire’s premier destinations for sports fans, DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester will play a major role in supporting our ongoing efforts to maximize revenue for education in New Hampshire,” added McIntyre. He outlined that the high popularity of the mobile sports betting by DraftKings in New Hampshire already speaks for itself. According to McIntyre, the physical sportsbooks is the next step towards expansion in the Granite State.
Here, it is important to mention that DraftKings is the exclusive sports betting provider for the New Hampshire Lottery. The company launched mobile sports betting in the state in December 2019. Back in August, the company opened its first sports betting retail location in the state located at The Brook. DraftKings said that the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Manchester location is planned for September 13, 2020.
Draftkings Teams up with The Chicago Cubs
Elsewhere, in Chicago, Illinois, DraftKings singed a key partnership with The Chicago Cubs. Under the multi-year agreement, The Chicago Cubs named DraftKings their first official and exclusive sports betting and daily fantasy partner. Furthermore, the deal outlines the plan of DraftKings to introduce “a first-of-its-kind sportsbook at the iconic Wrigley Field”. With this move, DraftKings will be able to offer supreme entertainment experience for the sports fans in the state. With that being said, the company will still need to receive approval by the City of Chicago to develop the retail sportsbook.
“This is truly a historic moment, as we are thrilled to align with the renowned Chicago Cubs franchise and iconic Wrigley Field to provide sports bettors in Chicago with a revolutionary sports betting experience,” wrote in a statement, Kalish. He added that the two companies share the same passion for innovation and commitment to excellence.
Crane Kenney, President of Business Operations of the Chicago Cubs also shared his excitement. He said that DraftKings has been a great partner for several years. Kenney did not miss to say that the company is excited to expand its relationship in the growing sports betting market of Illinois.
