Betfair Promotes Rich Hayward to Managing Director Role

Betfair, the world’s biggest online betting exchange that is also a part of Flutter Entertainment, strengthened its team with a senior-level promotion. Rich Hayward, an experienced executive with the company announced he was elevated to the role of managing director at Betfair for Flutter UK & Ireland. Announced Wednesday, the senior-level promotion marks the latest chapter in the executive’s long career with the company.

Throughout his professional tenure, Hayward was a part of Betfair for more than 15 years. As an expert with a track record, he has held a number of important roles, allowing him to gain unique skills and understand strategic aspects of the business. Initially, Hayward’s career with Betfair started back in 2008. At the time, he joined the company as a commercial graduate and quickly moved up the ranks to become senior marketing manager – VIP in November 2011.

In a statement released via LinkedIn, Hayward shared his excitement by explaining that the “Betfair dream continues.” Highlighting that the promotion marks an exciting moment for him, he explained that he feels the same way as the time he started at Betfair back in 2008. “The culture and the team are such a privilege to be part of and every day continues to be a thrilling education,” added Hayward.

The Executive Was a Part of Betfair for More than 15 Years

Before his promotion to the managing director role, Hayward most recently served as commercial director for the UK and Ireland. Holding that role, he was in charge of Betfair’s sports business, including its sportsbook and exchange products. Undoubtedly, Hayward’s knowledge and experience helped him in that role, considering he held it for more than four years since August 2019.

Before that, between February and August 2019, he served as integration director for Paddy Power Betfair. At the time, he oversaw the integration of Adjarabet to the Flutter Group.

Earlier in his career, Hayward served as head of exchange services, premium and pricing, exchange business and pricing director, as well as head of international operational performance, among other important senior-level roles.
