APT Returns to Newport World Resorts in Manila

Newport World Resorts in Manila, the Philippines, will play host to the penultimate event for the Asian Poker Tour this year, which will feature 13 days of intense play, reuniting some of the regional heavyweights. The APT event is a precursor to the last event on the APT is scheduled for December and will be held in Da Nang, Vietnam, with both legs of the competition proving to be very exciting and worthwhile additions to the local poker calendar.

Asian Poker Tour Going at Full Speed Ahead

The upcoming tournament series will feature 41 events and run between November 15 and 27. The Main Event will unfold from November 17 through November 22, featuring $260,000 in GTD prize money. Commenting on this opportunity, Hakan Dagtas, the COO of Newport World Resorts, said that the property was excited to once again play host to one of the most significant poker competitions on the calendar:

Dagtas welcomed the APT and its organizers and said that the property was more than happy to accommodate one of the final legs of the competition for the year. APT has built a serious reputation in the region and it’s a sister event to the World Poker Tour, which is reuniting regional players in Europe, and often from beyond the original geographies.

In August, Asian Poker Tour appointed Fred Leung as its new chief executive officer, as the organizaiton continues to grow its footprint and scale its offer across the region. The company already teased its plans for regional and international growth, as the organization is trying to increase its presence.
