TAB NZ Appoints a New Chief Executive, Mike Tod Will Assume Office in March

TAB NZ has appointed a new chief executive who will help the company reach new heights. Mike Tod has numerous years of working experience in the field, and as the board chair, Mark Stewart confirmed, Tod will assume office on March 21.
Tod’s Experience Was a Crucial Factor in His Appointment
As Stewart stated, Tod’s working experience played a crucial role in his appointment. He said that Tod is a customer-centric leader and has a lot of knowledge in key focus areas of the company, such as consumer and brand engagement, marketing, and product and service innovation.
Previously, he held senior roles at highly reputable companies such as Air New Zealand, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Fonterra, and TVNZ. Moreover, Tod is Queenstown Airport’s director, Live Ocean Racing advisor, and a former member of MasterCard’s Asia Pacific Advisory Board.
While speaking on his appointment, Tod said that TAB NZ is a well-established organization that is linked to the way of life in New Zealand. As the racing industry continues to evolve, TAB NZ can focus on maximizing its profits to support local communities and boost returns to sports organizations in the country.
In terms of education, Tod is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program and Sustainability Leadership Program of Harvard Business School and is a Chartered Institute of Marketing fellow.
Stewart reminded everyone of the qualities that Tod brings to the table. He said that while working particularly as chief marketing and customer officer at Air New Zealand, he was able to help the brand resurge and deliver “proactive and service innovations” around the world.
That is why TAB NZ is confident that it will meet its financial potential and meet or exceed the expectations of its shareholders. Stewart concluded by saying that Tod’s experience in organizations with shareholder complexity and highly regulated industries will be invaluable to TAB NZ.
TAB NZ and Tod will face many challenges in 2022 due to the pandemic. Recently, new travel restrictions have been revealed, and numerous industries are likely to suffer.
TAB NZ Holds the Monopoly For Horse and Greyhound Sports Betting
In New Zealand, TAB NZ holds the monopoly for horse racing and greyhound sports betting. The company was previously known as New Zealand Racing Board and then the Racing Industry Transition Agency.
Its main goal is to promote the racing industry and maximize its profits. Currently, TAB NZ broadcasts these races on TAB Trackside 1 and 2. Promoting the industry has been difficult in the past two years since many events were canceled due to the pandemic.
