Spribe Responds to Suspended UK License, Hopes to Reinstate Delivery of Aviator Soon

The company had its remote operating license suspended due to a violation of the hosting requirements in the UK

Gaming content provider Spribe just had its license suspended in the UK due to reported hosting violations. The company has broken the silence on the situation, saying that it is taking the matter seriously and working on restoring its license.

Spribe’s Operating License Was Suspended

On LinkedIn, the gaming provider acknowledged the suspension of its operating license in the UK. For context, the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) announced the suspension on October 30, saying that the company had violated the hosting requirements of the UK licensing framework.

For context, hosting refers to the act of indirect provision of content to operators. This may include a situation where a provider hosts its games on an in-house server, providing its clients’ customers with access to said games.

According to the UKGC, Spribe engaged in hosting activity despite lacking the necessary license. Due to this violation, Spribe was slammed with a suspension of its existing operating license.

In addition to that, the UK regulator asked the company to immediately inform everyone affected by the disruption of its services.

Spribe Is Taking All Steps to Reinstate Delivery of Aviator

In its response, Spribe said that it is taking the matter “extremely seriously.” The company added that it is working hard on resolving the situation as swiftly as possible and regaining its operating license.

For context, the company has held an operating license in the UK since 2020. In that time, it has remained compliant with all of the market’s terms, annual audits, and regulatory returns. Spribe added that it has always maintained transparent communication with the regulator in relation to all regulatory matters.

As it turned out, however, Spribe recently learned that its technical setup was constructed in such a way that the company needed a hosting license in addition to its existing remote operating license.

Until we obtain this [hosting] license, the Commission, at its discretion, opted to suspend our current remote operating license. We are taking all necessary steps to comply with the Commission’s requirements in order to reinstate the delivery of AVIATOR to the UK market.

Spribe statement

Due to its profound resonance with players, the AVIATOR game has become the reason for a lawsuit between Spribe and Aviator LLC, with the latter getting accused of trying to launch a “copycat game.”
