PSG Ready to Make History

Since the Qatari takeover in 2011, PSG has won everything there is to win in France. However, on the continent, the farthest the Parisians reached is the semifinal phase of the Champions League. Now, they’ve got another chance to get to the Final.

For that, however, they need to knock Borussia Dortmund out of the competition. They were expected to do well in the first game, but they weren’t too impressive in Germany. On the bright side, they lost by just 1-0, meaning that they still have a pretty good chance of winning on aggregate.

The good news for them is that the rematch is played on their turf. At home, these guys have lost only twice so far in the entire 2023-24 campaign. They lost 3-2 to Nice back in September, which you can think of as a sort of glitch. More recently, they lost to Barcelona in the UCL quarterfinal by the same score.

As you can see, even if they lose, they do score some goals. This is why it’s surprising that Dortmund managed to keep a clean sheet in the first leg of the semifinal. Can the Germans do it once again?

Can Borussia Dortmund Conquer Paris?

As we rightly predicted, Borussia Dortmund beat PSG in the first game. Our prediction was that the home team was going to win because we understood the power of Borussia’s stadium, the Westfalen.

However, we also thought there’s gonna be goals galore in the first game. This is mostly because we expected the Parisians to attack ferociously. They didn’t do that, mainly because Dortmund’s midfielders did a fine job at keeping the opposition far from the goal.

PSG did create some chances but none of them seemed too dangerous. In fact, Borussia’s goalkeeper Gregor Kobel only had to intervene on three occasions to prevent the ball from hitting the net.

PSG vs. Borussia Dortmund Prediction

The first game with Dortmund was only the third time this entire season that PSG failed to score a goal. It’s really surprising that the Parisians didn’t do better offensively given that they’ve got some incredibly talented forwards on the roster – Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani, etc.

They failed to score a week ago, but they’ll get another chance on Tuesday, May 7. And we think they’re gonna take it!

Pick: PSG & Over 2.5 Goals
