Per Widerström Officially Assumes CEO Position at 888
He called 888 an “iconic company,” saying that the opportunity to lead it is an “immense honor”

Per Widerström, Catena Media’s former non-executive director, has begun work as 888 Holdings’ new chief executive officer. The appointment, which was announced earlier this year, will see the appointee relocate to London to stand at the head of the prestigious gambling company.
Widerström boasts some 17 years in the online casino industry and has served as Fortuna Entertainment Group’s chief executive officer for eight years. The new CEO joined the gambling industry in 2006 and has served a variety of companies in different capacities ever since. His appointment as CEO of 888 comes amid a transformational period for the company.
As Widerström steps into the office, Jonathan Mendelsohn, who served as the company’s interim CEO, will revert to his non-executive chairman role. Mendelsohn will also receive a new position in the company’s nominations committee.
As 888’s new chief executive officer, Widerström is set to receive an annual salary of almost $823,000.
Widerström Is Ready to Dedicate All of His Efforts to 888
Widerström commented on his new position via a post on LinкedIn, sharing his excitement about the new position. He said that this job is a “thrilling new chapter” in his career and added that he is excited to relocate to London to stand at the helm of the company.
He called 888 an “iconic company,” saying that the opportunity to lead it is an “immense honor.” Widerström is looking forward to assuming responsibility for the holding behind the famous 888, William Hill and Mr Green brands and working with their teams.
I am very enthusiastic to have the opportunity to unite with the extraordinary people at 888 Holdings, ready to navigate the exciting journey ahead of us.
Per Widerström, CEO, 888
Widerström added that he is very optimistic about the future of the company and promised to dedicate all of his efforts to developing its business. He noted that had to leave a number of prestigious positions to make sure he would able to focus all of his efforts on 888.
This pivotal moment has led me to step away from my eight NED roles. I extend a massive thanks to the incredible individuals I have collaborated with over the years at Nordnet, Turbotic, Sambla Group, Qred, Bokadirekt, Casumo, Bilthouse, and Catena Media.
Per Widerström, CEO, 888
Widerström extended thanks to his former colleagues, saying that he has felt honored to have had the opportunity to work beside them.
