Online Casino Owner Alleges He Was Banned from X in Exchange for Money
The charming but often controversial poker player and casino owner has alleged a coordinated attack against him and his businesses
The firebrand owner of Duel Casino, Ossi Ketola, better known to netizens as Monarch, has erupted during a Twitch stream, alleging that he had been banned from the popular social media platform X in exchange for money.
Ketola did not specify who orchestrated the attack against him, but argued that it was part of a well-thought-through smear campaign meant to silence him.
Duel Casino Owners Chalks Up Ban of Personal, Business Accounts to Coordinated Attack
“A significant amount of money” was apparently paid to suspend his account. However, it’s his business too that has been affected, with the @duel X account, the one for the Duel Casino, also going under.
“Why banned? It looks like they are attacking. Just when we launch (RTP games), this happens. From what we’ve looked into … it seems that someone spent a significant amount of money to get the accounts banned. So now obviously (the) priority is to get them unbanned.”
Ketola confirmed that he was working to restore his accounts and ensure that Duel Casino is unaffected by what he insisted was an attack against his person and business.
However, a reason for the suspension was never given officially by X, nor is the platform likely to ever admit that it could be bought to cancel accounts. A far more likely explanation could be that Ketola breached platform policies.
He is known for his divisive and incendiary language and has drawn criticism over his unfiltered opinions. However, he is also an accomplished poker player and has repeatedly captured headlines. He even won the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, where he scooped the $12.7-million prize.
