One Bettor Won 30 Wagers on Terry Rozier, Investigation Reveals
As of last week, Rozier still wasn’t cleared of wrongdoing and remained under federal investigation

As the investigation into Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier continues, investigators have uncovered new details. According to ESPN, one bettor alone won 30 wagers on Rozier, scooping up almost $13K.
Terry Rozier Is Under Federal Investigation
Rozier has been under fire for some time now due to allegations of fixing NBA games for the benefit of an illegal betting ring. As of last week, he still wasn’t cleared of wrongdoing and remained under federal investigation.
Rozier’s suspicious activity was first detected during a March 2023 game between his former team, the Charlotte Hornets, and the New Orleans Pelicans. Suspicious betting patterns emerged, coinciding with Rozier’s exit from the game due to a reported injury.
The high prop betting activity suggested that bettors might have had insider information, prompting the investigation. New data has now revealed that one player alone placed 30 wagers on Rozier.
ESPN Says One Bettor Placed 30 Wagers
ESPN reported that it had obtained documents alleging that a single player had placed 30 wagers on Rozier in 46 minutes. Also related to the controversial game between the Hornets and the Pelicans, the wagers were winning ones to the last and netted the winner some $13,017.70.
Further details revealed that the largest wager was for $2,700 on Rozier going under 5.5 rebounds. ESPN also understood that 29 were placed at a self-serve kiosk, while a single one was made at a sportsbook counter.
Harrah’s Gulf Coast, the property where the bets were placed, had initially refused to pay out the winnings due to suspicions of inside information and match-fixing. However, since sportsbook officials couldn’t prove to the Mississippi Gaming Commission that any misdeeds had taken place, they were instructed to pay out the winnings.
ESPN unsuccessfully tried to reach out to the winner.
For context, Rozier finished the game with five points, four rebounds, and two assists. Due to this, many under wagers won, sparking significant suspicions. However, the NBA at the time found no violation of league rules.
