After a day of medical visits due to his wife’s cancer treatment, the lucky winner stopped at Bellstore #146 in Malvern for a breather. At the store, the man purchased several scratch-off tickets, including the last remaining Best of 7’s ticket.

As someone who’s always been enthusiastic about buying the end of the roll, the man felt attracted to the sole remaining Best of 7’s ticket. His decision to get it turned out to be the right one as he scratched it to find he had won a life-changing $500,000 prize.

After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28%, the man will receive $360,000. This money couldn’t have come at a better time, considering his wife’s ailment and his family’s mounting medical bills.

The Winner Plans to Treat His Beloved Once She Gets Better

The man told the Ohio Lottery that the first thing he did was tell his wife. He was so stunned by the win that at first his wife thought that he had had an incident.

She looked at me funny and said did you fall? I said no I’m in shock! I think I won half a million dollars!

He added that he still can’t believe his luck and that he feels like he is dreaming. The winner was optimistic about the future and promised to do something special for his wife once she gets better.

The Ohio Lottery added that, as of August 27, there were two top prizes of $500,000 remaining in the Best of 7’s game.
