New Jersey Gaming Reaches Almost $7B in Revenue for 2025
The DGE reported $6.98 billion in total gaming revenue for 2025, which translates to an increase of 10.8% from 2024
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has published its latest industry report, outlining the financial performance of the state’s gaming sector in December 2025. The data shows an increase in overall revenue due to mostly positive trends.
New Jersey’s Industry Remained Strong
In its December report, New Jersey’s casinos, racetracks, and their partners generated $605.6 million in total gaming revenue, the DGE reported. This number reflects year-on-year growth of 15.9%, the authority added. To put things into perspective, the New Jersey gaming industry reported $522.6 million in revenue in December 2024.
In addition to that, the DGE reported $6.98 billion in total gaming revenue for 2025, which translates to an increase of 10.8% from 2024 when the state’s casinos, racetracks, and their partners reported total gaming revenue of $6.3 billion.
As a result of the revenue increase, operators paid $89.9 million in taxes for December, as well as $844.1 million for 2025.
A Favorable Year for All Verticals
Taking a look at how the different verticals performed, the DGE reported casino win of $216.1 million for December 2025. This figure actually highlighted a decrease of 6.7% when compared to $231.8 million for December, although the decrease was offset by favorable performance throughout the year, leading to a casino win of $2.89 billion for 2025, up 2.7%.
In the meantime, the online casino sector reported $273.2 million in internet gaming win for December 2025. As usual, the vertical experienced double-digit growth when compared to the prior-year period. For context, New Jersey iGaming reported $228 million in internet gaming win in December 2024. The full-year results, meanwhile, showed internet gaming win of $2.91 billion for 2025, which reflected an increase of 22% year-on-year.
Last but not least, New Jersey’s sports betting sector continued to expand, experiencing a strong, double-digit growth. The sports wagering gross revenue for casinos, racetracks, and their partners, reached $116.3 million for December 2025, up 85% year-on-year. This stellar growth saw the sector far surpass the $62.8 million reported for December 2024. The full-year results were likewise favorable, showing sports wagering gross revenue of $1.18 billion for 2025, up 7.5% year-on-year.
New Jersey’s Smoking Ban Discourse Continues
In the meantime, lawmakers in New Jersey picked up the fight against smoking anew after outgoing Gov. Phil Murphy did not address the issue. For context, casino workers have long demanded smoke-free conditions, arguing that the smoke hurts their health. Caisnos, however, have so far been reluctant to listen, fearing a decrease in visitation.
While Gov. Murphy did not add the end of the Garden State’s indoor smoking to his legacy, as proponents of the smoking ban suggested he should, he signed a new measure to introduce new gambling education requirements.
