MGM China just held its second Responsible Gaming Promotional Project in Macau, reiterating its commitment to promoting gambling safely and teaching players to enjoy it responsibly. The new edition of the annual event saw it focus on talent development, creativity, and innovative communication.

MGM and CityU Partnered Once Again

According to the announcement, MGM once again partnered with the City University of Macau (CityU) and held the second edition of the MGM x CityU Responsible Gaming Promotional Project.

The project continued the success of the inaugural edition and built on the proven “training + practice model.” According to MGM’s announcement, the second edition of the project engaged more than 30 tourism, management, hospitality, and social work students.

The project introduced new modules to help students learn more about the history of gaming in Macau and understand some of the misconceptions surrounding the industry, sustainable gambling, and harm.

Following the conclusion of the training, ambassadors applied what they learned via a variety of community initiatives.

The New Edition Focused on Two Main Components

The gaming company explained that the new edition was focused on two main components, which included the Responsible Gaming Campus Ambassador Program and the Healthy Financial Management Promotional Design Competition. MGM elaborated that the former focuses on talent development and hands-on engagement, while the latter seeks to encourage innovative communication and creativity.

The Healthy Financial Management Promotion Design Competition encouraged CityU students to pair their creativity with their understanding of digital media to promote safer gaming. The students’ entries were showcased online and generated some 110,000 views.

MGM China and CityU hosted the closing ceremony for the ambassador program and the award presentation for the design competition, recognizing participants’ amazing contributions. The ceremony was attended by many notable MGM and CityU officials.

Injecting Fresh Momentum Into Macau’s Sustainable Development

Representatives commented on the new edition of the program, expressing excitement about the opportunity to promote responsible gaming. Ip Kuai Peng, vice rector of CityU, was very pleased with the Responsible Gaming Campus Ambassador Program and the Healthy Financial Management Promotional Design Competition, saying that they build on the models of theory + practice and competition + innovation. He added that he hopes the award-winning projects will continue to evolve and “inject fresh momentum into Macau’s sustainable development.”

According to her, the future of Macau’s sustainability would depend on collaboration between the government, enterprises, schools and organizations.
