Man Awaiting Trial for Robbing Patrons Does It Again
A Chicago man who was released by a judge while he awaits trial for robbing people on a casino shuttle bus is back at it – almost bizarrely

Second chances matter, but for Willie Greenwood, they don’t mean all that much. According to his arrest records, Greenwood was arrested at Bally’s temporary casino in Medinah Temple, where he preyed on unsuspecting victims, using the shuttle bus that ran from the property to Chinatown.
Man Who Beat, Robbed Casino Patrons Arrested Again
Following the original arrest and subsequent release, Greenwood returned to his old ways and immediately began targeting patrons again. His original deeds go back to March, when he was caught in a vehicle, as a police officer matched his description based on a BOLO.
At the time, he was arrested for robbing a 65-year-old person at gunpoint on the same day. Greenwood was finally released in April, and he was set a trial date to await sentencing. However, Greenwood is said to have beaten up a 40-year-old man in a parking garage near a casino and made away with $2,500 in cash and credit cards.
Judge James Murphy III said that Greenwood’s repeat offenses would mean that he needs to remain in custody until his trial, with the newly committed crimes compounding his original acts of violence.
