The man, later identified by the casino as Brandon, turned a modest $10 wager into a massive payday. 

Sitting down at the Lightning Buffalo Link Super Grand Jackpot Progressive slot machine on August 30, Brandon hit the spin button and watched the reels light up before the screen flashed every slot player’s dream message: jackpot. 

The man ended up scooping up $179,796.66 in total, with the venue officially confirming the six-figure in a news release, mentioning that the payout happened just east of the Strip inside Virgin Hotels’ casino floor.

In April, the same venue witnessed a Californian guest winning a massive $1,515,034.61 on IGT’s Whitney Houston Slots game. 

$1M Jackpot with $25 Bet

Lucky Brandon wasn’t the only one hitting it big in Vegas last week. Just two days earlier, a local player scored an even larger windfall across town at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa.

According to the casino, the guest was playing a Dragon Link slot machine in the high-limit room on August 28 when they placed a $25 bet. 

With $768 still left on their credit meter, the reels landed in just the right combination, triggering the Dragon Link Grand Jackpot, instantly rewarding the gambler with a whopping $1,016,561.42.

“This marks the second time the $1 million Dragon Link Grand Jackpot has hit at Red Rock in exactly three months,” the casino said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. In July, Circa Resort & Casino handed the $1 million payout to another fortunate player who remained anonymous. 

Red Rock, located about 10 miles northwest of the Las Vegas Strip, has built a reputation as a hot spot for big payouts. The latest win there only adds to the lore, especially given the short window since the last seven-figure Dragon Link jackpot dropped.
