Las Vegas Visitor Eyes Lawsuit After Scorpion Sting in Hotel Room

In his interview with 8 News Now, Lutale admitted that he hopes to settle the matter without the need for litigation, although the casino has yet to apologize

Casino visits are something we usually associate with leisure, good memories, and the thrill of firing up the reels of a slot machine. One unfortunate Las Vegas visitor, however, ended up returning home with memories of intense pain after being stung by a scorpion in his hotel room.

Stings Are Rarely Dangerous, But Usually Hurt a Lot

As reported by 8 News Now, Sulaiman Lutale was on a visit to Sin City in May 2025. While he was visiting for a business trip and not for gaming purposes, he still expected his stay at Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino to be a pleasant one.

Instead, he got stung by an Arizona bark scorpion on his arm. To make matters even worse, this is the most venomous species of scorpion in America and, while fatalities are extremely rare, the sting usually causes intense pain, swelling, and sometimes localized paralysis.

After Lutale was stung, his roommate quickly captured a video of the critter as proof, before killing it with a stomp.

In his interview with 8 News Now, Lutale admitted that he hopes to settle the matter without the need for litigation. Still, he was displeased with what he went through and noted that Silver Sevens didn’t even apologize for the discomfort the stay caused him.

Brian Virag of My Bed Bug Lawyer, now serving as Lutale’s attorney emphasized that even lower end hotels in the city should provide safe accommodation.

Not the First Time Something Like This Has Happened

In any case, this wasn’t the first time a Las Vegas visitor has encountered a scorpion and, unfortunately, it probably won’t be the last, considering the nimble arthropods’ ability to climb and enter rooms uninvited. Luckily, Las Vegas casinos usually have robust pest control measures to prevent such things from happening.

Previously, a visitor to The Venetian sued the property due to a similar sting. In that case, the man received a sting to his private parts, causing him even greater pain. To make matters worse, he got mocked by the casino resort’s employees, causing him further distress.

Scorpions aren’t the only pests causing trouble to casino resorts and their guests either, as bed bugs are also an occasional troublemaker.
