Industry Saddened by Nico Jansen’s Passing, Launches Fundraised for His Family
He was known by many as a kind and easy-going individual and an experienced industry professional

The gaming industry was shaken by the recent passing of Nico Jansen, a prominent gaming personality known for his kindness. Representatives of various gambling companies and outlets were saddened and many expressed condolences to his family.
Nico Jansen Has Passed Away
Jansen had been a member of the gambling industry for over a decade. He was known by many as a kind and easy-going individual, as well as an experienced industry professional.
Jansen co-hosted NEXT.io’s Weekly News podcast alongside editor Conor Mulheir. He was also the founder of Bet IT Best, a betting agency founded in 2013.
A former banking and IT sector specialist, Jansen was a prominent participant in industry conferences, often speaking at events such as NEXT.io Summits, and tackling important industry topics.
Many Remembered Jansen for His Kindness
The man’s sudden death sent shockwaves across the industry. Many stepped forward to share some of their best memories about Jansen and thank him for his contributions.
The chief operating officer of iGaming and online sports betting product developer FSG Digital, Seth Young, commented on the matter, highlighting Jansen’s kindness and good spirit. In a post on LinkedIn, Young reminisced about their time together and said that Jansen’s passing has made the world a lot less bright.
This sentiment was echoed by Pierre Lindh, co-founder and managing director of NEXT.io, who noted that the world has lost a bright light. Lindh said that Jansen was a “spreader of joy” who personified kindness and had an infectious smile.
Clarion Gaming global portfolio director Richard Linn expressed condolences to Jansen’s family and noted that the gaming industry has “lost one of its best.”
Karolina Pelc, vice president at FanDuel and founder of BeyondPlay, was devastated by the news and reminisced about a time the two accidentally met at an event where they were wearing the same hat for distinction.
Many other industry representatives also expressed sadness about Jansen’s death.
A Fundraiser Seeks £15,000 for Jansen’s Daughter
In the meantime, Roger Redfearn-Tyrzyk, a close friend of Jansen, opened a fundraiser for the family of the deceased. On LinkedIn, Redfearn-Tyrzyk said that the man loved nothing more than his daughter. Because of that, he and a group of friends organized the fundraiser.
As a group of friends, we decided to open a JustGiving page to give a little back to his family and mainly his daughter, of course, with their approval. If you can donate anything, please do if you can, but most importantly please remember him as the great person that he was.

The In memory of Nico Jansen fundraiser hopes to raise £15,000 and provide his family with some relief.
