IGT Lottery Secures EL Responsible Gambling Certification for the Sixth Consecutive Time
This highlights the company’s commitment to the highest industry standards and desire to prioritize its customers’ safety
International Game Technology (IGT), a global leader in the provision of content and technology to lotteries and gaming operators, announced that its Italian subsidiary, IGT Lottery, has once again achieved a major responsible gaming certification.
IGT Lottery Secures Certification from EL, WLA
According to the announcement, IGT Lottery has obtained RG certification from European Lotteries (EL) for the sixth consecutive time. This highlights the company’s commitment to the highest industry standards and desire to prioritize its customers’ safety.
IGT added that IGT Lottery has also obtained WLA Responsible Gaming Certification Level 4 thanks to an agreement between the EL and the World Lottery Association. This is notably the highest level of certification the WLA offers.
The EL’s RG certification has been created to promote a sustainable business model to members of the European Lotteries organization. Its standards have also been designed to be complementary with the WLA RG Principles and Framework. As a result, companies that secure the EL’s RG certification can also achieve the WLA’s Level 4 certification.
IGT Lottery Achieved 100% Score in All Areas
IGT emphasized that its Italian lottery subsidiary sports a robust RG program that is based on best practices from all over the world. The program is constantly being updated to address the industry’s shifting needs and evolving standards.
According to IGT, the program operates on three macro guidelines, which include the promotion of a positive approach to gaming, the prevention of underage gambling, and support for players who need it.
IGT elaborated that the EL RG certification was issued in the wake of an in-depth probe into IGT Lottery’s tools, activities and processes comprising its responsible gambling approach in Italy. The examination concluded that IGT Lottery was fully in line with the international standards laid down by the lottery association, reaching a staggering 100% score in each area.
IGT Is Proud of the Certification
Marco Tasso, the chief operating officer of IGT’s Italian and international sales and operations, commented on IGT Lottery’s latest achievement. He praised the fact that this is the sixth time in a row the company has scooped up the accolade, as well as the highest level of WLA certification. According to Tasso, this showcases IGT’s status as a “true global leader in sustainability.”
‘Advancing Responsibility’ is vital to our success as a lottery company, and central to our sustainability strategy. We will continue to deliver innovation while operating with the highest level of integrity to protect our people, products and processes.
Marco Tasso, COO of Italian and international sales and operations, IGT
In other news, IGT recently published its Q4 and FY 2024 report, highlighting favorable business performance despite a slight decline in revenue. The year saw IGT introduce certain changes, such as the $4.05 billion sale of the Gaming & Digital business to Apollo Global Management in a deal expected to close this year.
