Hockey Icon Wayne Gretzky Becomes BetMGM’s Brand Ambassador

Hockey icon Wayne Gretzky has become BetMGM’s official brand ambassador and will help the company tell its story in a unique way while helping the brand gain further clout within North America. 

Wayne Gretsky to Tell BetMGM’s Story

BetMGM has secured a multi-year deal with hockey icon and former NHL legend, Wayne Gretzky, making him its official brand ambassador. The four-time Stanley Cup champion will join BetMGM’s hockey and marketing efforts to promote the company on the North American Market.

BetMGM chief revenue officer, Matt Prevost, said: “Wayne is an exceptional talent who transcends the sports world, and we’re proud to welcome him to the BetMGM team.”

Gretzky stated that BetMGM is a great company, which stands at the forefront of the dynamic changes in the sports industry. He said that he is excited to become a part of the company’s plans for expansion into new uncharted territories.

Prevost said that the company is looking for a potential expansion in Canada and across the US. Gretzky will participate in that venture, incorporating his unique ability to tell BetMGM’s story.

Gretzky The Great One

With 61 unique NHL records, Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky, known as “The Great One,” is highly regarded as one of the best hockey players of all time. No one in the history of the NHL has accomplished more than him.

The Canadian superstar is the all-time leading champion in goals and assists with 2,857 points in 21 seasons, with the New York Rangers, Edmonton, Los Angeles, and St. Louis. He won 9 Hart trophies and is considered NHL’s Most Valuable Player.

BetMGM Continues Its Expansion 

Last month, BetMGM officially announced its one-of-a-kind partnership with NYRA Bets, a leading horse racing content provider and wagering platform of the New York Racing Association (NYRA).

Under the deal, BetMGM utilizes NYRA Bets’ wagering platform for its horse racing app (available on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as desktop).

In May, the company became the Baltimore Raven’s official partner, signing a multi-year collaboration deal with the team. Under the deal, BetMGM’s app features all of the team’s special promotions and campaigns, giving fans access to co-branded promotions. 

On May 27, BetMGM and Borgata Casino, Pennsylvania a big blackjack leaderboard ($25,000) special promo, which runs till today, June 3.

Although BetMGM has focused on its growth and expansion into new territories across the US and Canada, it has not forgotten its mission to promote responsible gambling. 

In April 2021, BetMGM partnered with GameSense, the BCLC responsible gambling program. With this collaboration, BetMGM became the first iGaming platform in the US to integrate and utilize GameSense.
