Leading affiliate in the iGaming world that drives over 100,000 depositing players on a yearly basis, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) Media, has announced it has taken its plan to split its two businesses into two companies listed independently publicly a step further.

Namely, GiG Media has completed its goal to create a new chief operating officer (COO) position and decided to give the role to Milorad Matejic.

The Split, to Occur by H2 2024

GiG Platform and Sportsbook and GiG Media are the two companies that will result from the carefully planned split that GiG Media has in mind.

The changes are expected to be completed by the second half of the current year, leading to each of the resulting two businesses having their own c-suite.

Matejic has spent eight years working for the Malta-based company. He served as director of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and publishing for the past four years, after spending seven months as director of SEO.

Before that, the new COO spent seven months in the role of SEO and content manager at AskGamblers, which now also belongs to the GiG group after it was acquired from Catena Media toward the end of 2022.

Matejic, “Deeply Honored and Thrilled”

Commenting on the new development and his new appointment, Matejic explained that he was “deeply honored and thrilled to embark on this new journey.”

He also called it a true privilege to join forces with his talented colleagues at GiG Media in their joint efforts to send the company to “unprecedented success and secure a dominant position in the competitive affiliate landscape.”

Matejic took it to his LinkedIn account to break the big news, where he received congratulations from GiG Media’s head of publishing, Emma-Elizabeth B., who wrote “Congratulations Milorad! Wish you every success in your new role, and look forward to celebrating.”

Monica Rangel, vice-president of marketing & strategy at A5 / WPT Online / Moments replied with “Is it ok if I feel a little bit proud of you?” followed by a heart emoji.

Earlier in the month, GiG posted an all-time high revenue of €35.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2023, standing for a 37% year-on-year growth while also announcing an extension of its iGaming platform agreement with Casumo which would enable the Dunder brand to keep relying on its state-of-the-art technologies and solutions.
