France vs. USA 2024 Olympics Odds, Time, and Prediction
France vs. USA is the gold medal match of the basketball event of the 2024 Olympic Games. The game will take place at Accor Arena in Paris on Saturday, August 10
As was the case in every previous game Team USA played at the 2024 Olympics, betting odds are heavily favoring this team. However, the Americans struggled a lot to go past Serbia in the semifinal, getting a win only thanks to a brilliant run in the final couple of minutes of the match. Now, they’re taking on France who are bound to go all-in, especially considering that the crown at Accor Arena will be on their side.

France to Throw Everything They’ve Got at Team US
We thought France were going to lose to Germany in the semifinal, but these guys put on a masterclass on Thursday afternoon. They won the game 73:69, with two EuroLeague stars, Guerschon Yabusele (Real Madrid) and Isaia Cordinier (Virtus Bologna) being their best players.
France’s NBA stars did okay as well, especially Victor Wembanyama, who’s been their key man since the start of the Olympics.
The French were great defensively for the second game in a row. Before beating Germany in the semifinal, they outclassed favored Canada in the quarterfinal, winning the game 82:73. The bad news for them, however, is that both of those teams are leagues below their opponent in the Final.
They’re aware of how good Team USA is, but you can be certain they won’t surrender without a fight. They’re going to throw everything they’ve got at the American and hope for a miracle.
How Good Team USA Actually Is?
If you take a look at the United States roster, you will see that this is one of the greatest basketball teams ever assembled. With players like LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, and others, Americans look unbeatable.
They’re without a single loss at the 2024 Olympics, but they did come very close to losing in the semifinal against Serbia. In fact, Nikola Jokic & Co. had a comfortable lead for 37 minutes, but then some blunders by Serbia’s players and some controversial decisions by the referees turned things around.
In the end, Team USA won 95:91, meaning that they failed to cover the spread, which was set to 17.5 points before the game.
France vs. Team USA Prediction
The game with Serbia showed that Team USA isn’t impeccable. This team can be beaten, and Serbia came very close to achieving it. The bad news for the French is that they’re probably not as good as Serbia, which is led by the NBA MVP.
That said, we don’t think there’s a way France can win Gold on Saturday. However, we definitely think they can put on a good fight and lose by less than 16 points.
Pick: France +16
