Flutter Brazil Onboards Dyego Cabral de Jesus as Head of Compliance

A week after teasing its plans for the near future, Flutter Brazil, the Brazil-facing arm of the sports betting juggernaut Flutter Entertainment, has appointed a new head of compliance. The one up to the task was Dyego Cabral de Jesus, whom the company described as a veteran when it comes to compliance-related matters.

Flutter Names a Regulatory Veteran as Head of Compliance

On LinkedIn, Flutter Brazil’s chief executive officer, João Studart, announced Cabral de Jesus’ appointment and revealed more about the appointee and his new responsibilities.

According to Studart, the role of head of compliance is of extreme importance to Flutter’s business, considering the company’s firm commitment to playing by the rules. He lauded the recent regulation of Brazil’s betting market as an “important advance” that also imposed new responsibilities on local operators.

As head of compliance, Cabral de Jesus will be tasked with ensuring that Flutter Brazil is following the rules and remaining compliant with the regulations in this key LATAM market. To that end, he will leverage his 12 years of experience in the compliance area.

Studart described Cabral de Jesus as someone with a global vision and deep regulatory knowledge. The new head of compliance has previously served as a corporate lawyer for a variety of businesses. He is no stranger to the Flutter family either and has served the company in various roles since 2019.

Cabral de Jesus’ most recent position prior to his appointment as head of compliance was general manager of compliance at Betfair Brazil. While his earlier years at Flutter saw him work from the company’s office in Dublin, Ireland, he will now return to Brazil to help with the company’s local growth.

The appointment of Cabral de Jesus as Flutter Brazil’s new head of compliance comes a month after Flutter added Stefan Bomhard to its board of directors. The latter was named a non-executive director (NED) and stepped into the office on October 1.
