Digitain Malta Promotes from Within, Names Aida Vardanyan CEO
Digitain praised Vardanyan’s expertise in building operational excellence and said that she has been fundamental in the company’s evolution

Digitain, an industry-leading iGaming software provider, has announced that Aida Vardanyan will step in as CEO of its Malta unit. In this position, she will be tasked with leading the business and continuing its success story.
Digitain Promotes Vardanyan as CEO of Its Malta Unit
As CEO of Malta, Vardanyan will oversee the company’s local hubs, which support Digitain’s global business operations. She will be responsible for helping Digitain expand its footprint and Malta in order to better underpin the company’s global business.
The promotion to the role comes after almost a decade of service. Vardanyan joined Digitain in 2016, first serving as a financial analyst. Since then, she has been slowly working her way up. In 2019, she was named as head of international planning and operations and was made responsible for Digitain’s global business strategy.
As someone who’s been a part of the Digitain story for almost 10 years, she is well-versed in the company’s business. In addition, her previous roles provided her with crucial experience in fostering relationships and navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
Her expertise will help her establish Digitain Malta as a central hub for providing a global community of iGaming clients with services.
Vardanyan Is Looking Forward to Supporting Digitain’s Growth
Digitain praised Vardanyan’s expertise in building operational excellence and said that she has been fundamental in the company’s evolution. Her qualities made her a perfect fit for the new role.
Vardanyan herself commented on her appointment as CEO of Digitain Malta, saying that she was honored to take on this new challenge. She noted that her 9 years with the company have taught her the importance of innovation, collaboration and commitment to excellence.

Digitain Parted Ways with CEO Westbury
In October 2024, Simon Westbury, the chief executive officer of Sport Generate and chief business officer of Digitain, announced his departure from the business. While he said that his time with Digitain and its brand has been an all-consuming passion, he added that he needs to rest and plans to catch up on sleep.
Sport Generate described Westbury as a visionary leader whose knack for strategy has played a key role in driving growth, innovation and success.
