The Atlantic City Police Department is investigating the reportedly violent deaths of a couple who were visiting the city from New York. The couple had visited the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, where they were found dead.
Police discovered the bodies around 5:00 pm on Sunday, with the deceased identified as Wei Guo Liang, 68, and Baoyi Bowie Zheng, 36. The woman was much younger than the man, and she had died of a broken neck.
According to investigators, the man himself had died from stab wounds that were most likely self-inflicted. However, no official version has been presented yet.
Media reached out to the police to ask if that was a case of “murder-suicide,” with New Jersey 101.5 reporting that the police have refused to classify the death as any particular crime just yet.
The Borgata has not commented on the case to media outlets, with details leading to the incident still scant. This is one of the most violent crimes committed at an Atlantic City casino resort over the past several years.
