Crown Resorts Beckons Recovery with Return of Aussie Millions
One of the most prominent Australian poker tournaments will be making a return after all, with Crown Melbourne playing host to the event

Following a prolonged hiatus, the Aussie Millions Poker Championship is going to be making a return at its customary venue – the Crown Melbourne. The property and its owner were challenged by a series of unfortunate regulatory events that are finally being put behind the company.
Poker Mega-Event Returns to Crown Melbourne after Six-Year Absence
The event last took place in 2020 and was, until then, celebrated as one of the foremost poker happenings in the competitive circuit in Australia and Oceania, attracting a diverse crowd of contenders.
Now, though, the event will return on April 24 and run through May 10, 2026, celebrating the best and brightest that poker has to offer locally. Details about the event are still forthcoming, with the full schedule yet to be released.
Crown Melbourne’s new CEO, Ed Domingo, is excited about the opportunity to bring this new event to poker aficionados in Australia once again, and in a statement, he said:
“We are thrilled to be welcoming Aussie Millions back to Crown Melbourne after six years and reestablishing the tournament as a must-visit on the international calendar for amateurs and elite competitors alike.”

The upcoming event is expected to have a total prize pool of about AUD 14 million, with the buy-ins ranging from a few hundred to AUD 25,000. There will be 18 tournaments as part of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship, giving a strong boost to the local scene.
