Bragg Gaming Unveils Leadership Changes in Pursuit of AI Developments & NA Growth
CEO Mazij said that that the two appointees are “highly qualified” and will be vital as Bragg enters a new phase of growth
Bragg Gaming Group, a leading iGaming content and technology solutions provider, announced two major leadership changes, including the addition of a new chief operating officer and the appointment of a new executive vice president of global content for the US and Canada. These changes come as the company pursues further growth in North America and an expanded use of AI in its business.
Morten Tonnesen Joins as COO
In its announcement on March 3, the company said that the experienced Morten Tonnesen has been named as its new chief operating officer, bringing some 17 years of progressive leadership expertise to the team.
As chief operating officer, Tonnesen will be responsible for driving operational leverage and implementing the company’s ambitious AI transformation. He will help Bragg in achieving its AI goals and support its journey to become an AI-first company by 2027. To that end, he will ensure that AI-enhanced products are integrated into the company’s workflow.
As mentioned, Tonnesen is an experienced individual who is no stranger to the gaming industry. Prior to joining Bragg, he served as chief growth officer of CRM expert Xtremepush and CCO of Shape Games. He has also spent six years at PokerStars and is the founder of BetWarrior, a LATAM-facing gaming company.
Garrick Morris Named EVP of Global Content for US & CA
In the meantime, Bragg promoted Garrick Morris to EVP of global content for the US and Canada. This appointment further highlights the company’s increased focus on the NA region and pursuit of continued growth.
In its announcement, Bragg noted that Morris first joined its team in 2024, initially serving as senior vice president of commercial for the US and Canada. He is the former COO of Digital Gaming Corporation and has also served Microgaming and Derivco.
With these new NA-facing appointments, Bragg highlights its optimism about its business in the region, which was reinforced by its recent financial results.
CEO Mazij Welcomed the Appointees on Board
Tonnesen and Morris commented on their new appointments, expressing excitement about what the future has in store. Tonnesen noted that Bragg’s progress in AI has been “captivating” and that he is looking forward to supporting its AI-first approach.
Morris added that since he first joined Bragg, the company has made significant strides in North America. He listed the launch of new games, remote gaming server technology and player account management platform in the region as key achievements and added that he cannot wait to bolster Bragg’s growth in the region.
Matevž Mazij, Bragg’s CEO, also commented on the matter, hailing the appointments. He said that the two of them are “highly qualified” and will be vital as Bragg enters a new phase of growth. He said: “We believe their contributions will strengthen our ability to deliver operational leverage, meet our goals to streamline internal processes, enhance overall efficiency across our organization, and advance us further along the path toward EBITDA growth and net profitability.”
