Bettor Turns Down $123K, Needs Edmonton Oilers Win to Cash $270K
The lucky bettor has already completed the first three stages of his journey to the huge prize, with Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Liberty, and Philadelphia Eagles wins, and now hopes for an Edmonton Oilers victory

It is not often the case that a small bet on a sports team could lead to hundreds of thousands in cash outs. Usually, one would get the money and celebrate, but one bettor who can currently get $123,614 refuses to stop right now.
Bettor Refuses to Cash Out Current Prize, Hoping to Get a $270K One Later
The bettor stands to win this tremendous prize if both the Edmonton Oilers claim the Stanley Cup and the Oklahoma City Thunder secure the NBA title, but he’s choosing not to cash out early. The man placed a five-leg futures parlay with a $13 stake at staggering +2,082,680 odds, which will yield the full $270,762 payout if all picks hit.
The lucky bettor has already completed the first three stages of his journey to the huge prize. Championship wins by the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Liberty, and Philadelphia Eagles have already come through, helping the bettor have a potential $123,000 cash out, if he desires. However, he just needs the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup and the Oklahoma City Thunder to take the NBA title to cash in.
On Wednesday night, after the Oilers clinched Game 1 of their best-of-seven series against the Florida Panthers in overtime, the young bettor was spotted on the street and asked if he would cash out. Displaying confidence in his wager, he was seen wearing a T-shirt featuring his parlay bet slip, and answered: “Bro, we’re riding this sh*t we’re going the whole distance! I’ve said it from the beginning, f*ck the 100K, I don’t care! We’re going the whole way, you saw that team! Unbeatable!”
All Eyes Are on the Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers have been making terrific progress in the 2025 Stanley Cup. The best-of-seven series began on June 4, 2025, with the Oilers securing a dramatic 4–3 overtime victory in Game 1. Leon Draisaitl scored the decisive goal at 19:29 of overtime, tying the NHL record for most overtime goals in a single postseason with three. The Oilers are aiming to clinch their first Stanley Cup since 1990 and are seeking redemption after a narrow Game 7 loss to the Panthers in last year’s final. Game 2 is scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2025, in Edmonton, with the outcome from it deciding if the confident bettor will reach his goal of $270,000.
However, he isn’t the only one hoping for an Oilers win. In fact, scores of Canadians are betting on the Edmonton Oilers, as the team continues its victorious series in the Stanley Cup.
