Bettor Misses $1M Parlay Win after England’s Loss to Spain in Euro 2024
Besides losing their wager, the bettor reportedly didn't accept a cash out offer of nearly $400,000 ahead of the Euro 2024 final

A bettor who had the option to cash out their three-legged wager for nearly $400,000 ahead of the final of the European Championship 2024 this Sunday turned down the offer. This resulted in the bettor’s loss who likely won’t ever forget how Spain won against England at the Euro 2024 final.
The identity of the bettor remains secret. He placed a three-legged wager this spring that was $17,000. Had he guessed all three legs, the +5500 three picks parlay would’ve granted the bettor nearly $1 million.
The parlay included a wager for Scottie Scheffler to win The Masters 2024, as well as the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Finals. The third leg of the parlay was for England to win Euro 2024.
The bettor guessed correctly the first two legs of the parlay after Scheffler won The Masters 2024 while the Celtics won the NBA Finals earlier this year. However, the bettor’s luck ran out on the final wager, causing him to lose the hefty parlay.
Cash Out or Let It Ride?
On Friday, the leading betting operator, DraftKings, released a screenshot of two parlay wagers, offering different cash out options. One of them was the three-legged parlay wager of $17,628. If the three bets were correct, the bettor would’ve received the mind-blowing sum of $987,168.
DraftKings offered the bettor an option to cash out ahead of the Euro 2024 final between Spain and England. That would’ve granted the bettor $382,340.58. While that sum is far from the astronomical $987,168, it still would’ve been a major payday for the bettor.
Along with the information about the parlay, DraftKings wrote on X: “Would you cash out or let it ride knowing England is an underdog in the Euros Final?”
Online users who joined the discussion supported the idea of cashing out, with one person saying: “cash out… anything can happen… and it’s Spain.” Another person wrote “Cash that thing,” while others said that they wouldn’t consider cashing out.
The second wager was a six picks parlay. The bettor who placed a $149 wager was about to receive just $45,000 and change if their wager six-legged parlay was successful.
They too were offered a cash out option ahead of the competition which would’ve granted them nearly $17,000. While the first bettor didn’t cash out their wager as announced by media outlets, it is unclear if the second one selected the cash out option.
