Better Collective Appoints Rene Schroder to Editor in Chief Role
In his new role of editor in chief, Schroder will play an important part in the growth of the company's brands in Europe

Better Collective, the digital sports media group, confirmed a new senior-level appointment Thursday. The company revealed that it has taken an important step in expanding its European-facing presence by hiring the expert with extensive experience in sports and media, Rene Schroder, to the role of editor in chief. Joining Better Collective, he will be in charge of the company’s European sports media brands, providing strategic guidance and advice.
The hire seeks to strengthen Better Collective’s foothold in the region by bringing quality sports content. At the same time, the company anticipates expanding its reach to new audiences by leveraging different media channels around the Old Continent. Schroder’s appointment was announced this week but is effective from August 8, 2023, reveals Better Collective.
As a part of Better’s C-suite, Schroder brings knowledge in podcast and video production, as well as different social media skills. He understands the European sports vertical and will help with the development of strategies for the company’s European-facing brands. Schroder will cooperate closely with different teams and oversee the development of sports news sites while at the same time, providing advice to Better’s local teams. Ultimately, his efforts, along with the dedication and hard work of the company’s teams seek to further propel the company’s presence in Europe.
The Experienced Executive Is Excited to Join Better
The company’s new editor in chief, Europe, explained that it is thrilling to join the company and play an important part in its future growth. According to Schroder, he will be excited to leverage his experience and fuel the growth of Better Collective’s European sports media brands.

Before joining Better, Schroder was a part of the editorial teams of popular sports media companies such as Viaplay, Bladet and Ekstra. Most recently, he played an important role in the development of the Danish sports media outlet, bold.dk.
