Betsson to Scale Its Capabilities with New Málaga Tech Hub
Betsson has already initiated the recruitment process for its Málaga office, inviting all manners of technical specialists and artificial intelligence experts to become a part of the Betsson family

Betsson Group is expanding its presence in Europe with a new Spain-based tech hub. Consistent with the company’s overall growth efforts, the hub will greatly reinforce the operator’s tech capabilities.
Betsson Selects Málaga as the Home of Its New Hub
According to the announcement, the new tech hub will be based in Málaga, a province in southern Spain that has cemented itself as an emerging tech center for an international community of companies. With a rich cultural background, high standards of living, and a wealth of technology specialists working across the gaming, financial technology and software development fields, Málaga perfectly fits Betsson’s ambitions.
Betsson’s facility in Málaga will enhance the company’s tech capabilities, powering the development of proprietary content, technology and AI-powered solutions. This will allow the operator to improve its platform and engage players with cutting-edge digital experiences.
According to the announcement, the primary tech stack will use .NET for backend development, as well as Kotlin and Swift for mobile apps.
The company’s new tech hub will employ a mix of locals and international hires, including ones from Latin America, which has a deep connection with Spain and lenient visa policies. The Málaga hub is therefore poised to field a strong team that will reshape the future of Betsson.

Málaga Somewhat Resembles Malta
Jesper Svensson, chief executive officer of Betsson Operations, hailed the reveal of the new hub and lauded Málaga as a cosmopolitan location that offers the perfect conditions for such a facility. According to Svensson, Málaga is not much different from Malta, where much of Betsson’s business is based.
In addition to reinforcing Betsson’s technological capabilities, the new hub will also serve as a link to other key jurisdictions. If furthermore reflects Betsson’s ethos to decentralize the operation of its business by creating new offices at key locations. Now boasting a workforce of some 2,500 people, the company remains bullish on further growth.
Alongside this Betsson remains committed to supporting and appreciating its employees and creating a healthy workplace culture.
Betsson’s Q2 Was Positive Despite Stock Hurdles
In other news, Betsson just published its report for Q2 2025, outlining favorable metrics leading to a 12% growth in group revenue. With EUR 303.7 million in revenue for the period and EBITDA of EUR 84.1 million, the company remained optimistic about the second half of the year.
However, the publication of Betsson’s quarterly report led to a sudden drop in the company’s share price. The company’s stock is currently worth SEK 163.50 apiece and has yet to rebound.
However, the Betsson leadership remained mostly unfazed, believing that the decrease is due to shareholders who have decided to cash in on their gains. CEO Pontus Lindwall, however, said that he wouldn’t sell his shares just yet as he trusts Betsson’s growth to continue.
