Ygam’s Harm Prevention Initiatives Have Reached 5M Children

Award-winning UK gambling harm prevention charity Ygam announced that it has reached approximately 5 million children and young people with its prevention programs. This marks a significant milestone for the organization, which was founded in 2014.

A Major Milestone for the Company

In its official announcement, Ygam confirmed that its portfolio of prevention programs has now reached 5 million children and young people, highlighting its significant progress. While the charity was pleased with its progress, it expressed a desire to reach another 5 million children and young people and shield many more people from gambling harm.

Since its founding, Ygam has delivered problem gambling prevention training and resources to some 32,000 delegates. The charity has also tapped into the healthcare sector, which is of particular importance to the prevention of harm, delivering training to over 5,500 professionals in that area.

Ygam added that its resources have also made way to 4,500 parents and carers via its regular workshops.

In addition to the vast growth of its UK footprint, Ygam said that the longevity of its reach has likewise increased. The charity clarified that its award-winning harm prevention resources have been downloaded a total of 100,000 times and that a staggering 50% of UK educators are implementing them into their lessons.

Martin added that Ygam’s positive message has now penetrated into schools, sports clubs, colleges, and community centers, reaching millions of people and teaching them to avoid gambling harm.

Martin also noted that this growth has led to unprecedented demand for the charity’s resources. She concluded that the Ygam team remains committed to further expanding its reach and making sure that every British child has the “knowledge and confidence to navigate the risks of gaming and gambling harms.”
