WrestleMania 42 Bans Las Vegas Establishments from Airing Event Following Low Ticket Sales

As ticket sales for the upcoming WWE event have been underperforming, WrestleMania has announced that licensed locations in the vicinity of the event will be barred from broadcasting it live

Lower than expected ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 have convinced the WWE to block bars and sports books in the vicinity of Allegiant Stadium, where it will be held for the second year in a row.

The Patreon account Fightful Select shared that tourist spots within 50 miles of the stadium will be banned from broadcasting the event, even if they have paid for a commercial licence.

Last year, WrestleMania 41 sold close to 60,000; this year, sales for each night, April 18-19, have not exceeded 36,000 for night one and two. That is an 18% difference.

By blocking the cheaper alternative, fans eager to watch the people will have to choose between buying a ticket and watching it from their hotel rooms.

The Price for Watching WrestleMania Live

A one-day ticket costs close to $270, which is the cheapest option for anyone looking to experience this live.

For a seat on the second row, fans will need to cough up between $2,000 to $9,000 for premium seats, with VIP options reaching close to $92,000.

Options for a second row seat for both nights go as far as $9,000; the lowest these combo-tickets go for is on average $600.

Constantly Changing Plans

As the streaming ban on local establishments came, so did information that many of the matches had become uncertain.

On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared that plans for WrestleMania kept changing:

Before the Rumble they had a complete card for WrestleMania. I was told that everything is up in the air.

According to Maltzar, the only “sure thing” match is CM Punk and Roman Reigns, even though the supposed Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes Undisputed WWE Championship matchup was not set in stone:

Even Cody Rhodes and Drew are not a sure thing right now. All of the other matches are not a sure thing. The only match that’s a sure thing right now is CM Punk and Roman Reigns.
