Woman Spends $20 on Illinois Lottery, Scoops $250K Payout

A woman from Illinois has accidentally purchased a $20 Magnificent Multiplier game ticket, which turned out to be the luckiest mistake of her life. 

Identified as Holly of Johnston City, the lucky player turned her $20 purchase into a $250,000 payout. The ticket was bought by accident, with Holly originally intending to scoop up a $2 ticket instead. 

A Happy Mistake Leads to New Economic Opportunity

“I meant to buy the $2 Booming Bucks. I was watching a movie and accidentally selected the $20 ticket,” she said, adding that when the prize was revealed, she thought that it had been a mistake, and that the computer had gone on the fritz.

She quickly told her husband, after he joked about her computer literacy, only to be shut down by Holly with: “No, silly, I won the jackpot!” The jackpot, small as it may seem at first glance, comes at the right time for Holly.

A retired teacher with a passion for music, he now intends to buy a baby grand piano, as well as build a new family house. The windfall from the accidental lottery win is more than enough to see these plans well on their way!
