Video Show Poker Player Using Alleged RTA During WSOP Event
RTA, or real-time assistance, refers to a notorious practice in which players would leverage software to optimize their gameplay and increase their chances to win

A poker player on X has suspected a fellow player of leveraging RTA to give himself an advantage at an online poker tournament. The footage shows the player referencing a complex chart while seemingly playing online.
Footage Shows Player Consulting RTA Chart
RTA, or real-time assistance, refers to a notorious practice in which players would leverage software to optimize their gameplay and increase their chances to win. This provides them with unfair advantage and is therefore banned in real-money games and tournaments.
However, a video by an X user shows a poker player referencing a complex chart on his laptop while allegedly playing in an online World Series of Poker Tournament right outside the Venetian poker room.
Is this guy actively RTA-ing in a WSOP online event right outside the VenetianPoker room? Anyone know who this is? Tried to track him down but had to quickly get back to my tourney…

The X user said they were stunned to see this happening in public but couldn’t follow or confront the man since their break was almost over and they had to return to playing.
Cheating or Misunderstanding?
Response to the footage was mixed, with some calling the alleged RTA user a “scumbag” and saying that he should be banned. Some of these users accused the original poster of not following or confronting the man with the laptop.
Others implied that there might have been a misunderstanding. Users suggested that the player in question might not have been using an RTA software to cheat but was using an equilibrium checking chart while not actively playing.
One user by the name of J.B. said: “Pretty sure that is HRC which is not a solver. Looks like he’s either looking up a specific equity spot or checking an equilibrium checking chart. Either way WSOP software should be able to detect if the program is open on the same system.”
Others implied that he might have been using software to coach others on probabilities rather than cheat in a tournament.
In any case, people remained on edge due to other recent RTA scandals. In March, GGPoker, the world’s largest poker room, banned 31 players for violating the platform’s RTA rules.
Prior to that, ACT ambassador came under fire after a screenshot showed an RTA chart open on her screen during gameplay.
