The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) responded to a signal about a man brandishing guns at the Las Vegas Strip, with the suspect becoming rowdy and threatening pedestrians.

Police Respond to Man Equipped with “Guns,” Take Him in Without Accidents

Lieutenant Andrew Kelvington and fellow officers were able to calm down the perpetrator and bring him in, taking him into custody without harm to anyone. This was doubly impressive, as the suspect was suspected of being armed with a deadly weapon, which was later examined to have been fake guns. He did not have any weapons visible on him during his arrest.

The incident occurred near Circus Circus Hotel and Casino around 4:30 pm, with police de-escalating the situation quickly. At the time of the arrest, however, the man had been able to conceal the weapons in his backpack, denying that he had anything to do with the accident.

While the Las Vegas Boulevard had to be temporarily shut down while the officers were taking the suspect, the area was opened once again at around 6:00 pm.
