Unibet Teams with Northern Ontario Curling Association
Unibet has entered into an official partnership with the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA) in Ontario, Canada. The sportsbook, which is licensed to provide sports betting and interactive gaming services in the province, will be the official sponsor for both the Men’s and Women’s Curling Championship and sponsor the entire 2022-2023 season.
Unibet to Help Curling in Canada Grow Even Further
NOCA will use Unibet’s expertise to help provide extensive streaming coverage of every game and match in Ontario, as confirmed by Kindred Group’s country manager for Canada Amanda Brewer. Brewer is confident that NOCA and Unibet bringing their operations together will further help curling gain prominence in the province and beyond. Commenting on this opportunity she added:
Kindred has a long commitment to sponsoring amateur sport in countries around the world and Ontario is no different.
Kindred Group’s country manager for Canada Amanda Brewer
Brewer welcomed the status of curling in Canada and said that the sponsorship is a great way to promote it in a fun and recreational way. More details will be forthcoming, said Brewer. Presently NOCA reunites 41 members and 11,000 players. Nationwide, the sport has been enjoying particular interest and there are more than 1000 clubs and more than 300 hours of Curling Canada events on TV every year.
Kindred’s brand is determined to help NOCA and curling, in general, grow by covering the events through social media promotions and betting markets. Curling fans will have the opportunity to never miss any of the action and also be able to place a wager on the outcome of an event.
As more of a niche sport curling does deserve a boost. A study from Horowitz Research indicated that 80% of people who place a wager are also more likely to actually watch sports with the hopes being that sports betting can resuscitate interest in some sports that have been losing viewership.
Platforms such as Jake Paul’s Betr, and Simplebet are also attempting to bring newer audiences and generations to sports, and sports betting may be just the way to achieve this.
