Police in Las Vegas believe travel influencer Anunay Sood may have died from a drug overdose during a visit to the Strip earlier this month.

Found Unresponsive Inside Hotel Room

The 32-year-old was found unresponsive inside a room at the Wynn Las Vegas on November 4, according to the police report obtained by KLAS-TV/Las Vegas. Officers discovered a small bag containing a white powder near his body, along with signs that the substance had been snorted, according to documents reviewed by investigators.

Sood had traveled to Las Vegas to attend the Las Vegas Concours, the “ultimate annual gathering for automotive connoisseurs” hosted at the Wynn between October 30 and November 2.

His social media accounts, where he often documented his trips around the world, showed him posting about the show shortly before his death. According to the police report, Sood and two women he knew, one identified as his fiancée, Shivani Parihar, met a man on the casino floor around 4 a.m.

They told officers they bought what they believed was cocaine, brought it upstairs, and used it together before falling asleep. About an hour later, the women woke up and realized something was wrong. They tried to wake Sood but couldn’t.

Emergency crews were called to the room and attempted to revive him. Responders performed CPR and gave multiple doses of Narcan, but nothing worked. He was pronounced dead a little after 7 a.m.

The Clark County coroner’s office has not yet determined an official cause of death. Toxicology testing is underway, though it can take months before results are finalized. For now, authorities have left the case open. No arrests have been made.

Sood had built a major presence online, especially on Instagram, where more than 1.5 million people followed his travel photography and videos. He also had a large audience on YouTube and was regularly included in Forbes India’s list of “Top 100 Digital Stars.”
