Spurs Hoping They Can Beat Red Devils Again

Tottenham Hotspur have a surprisingly good recent record with Manchester United – they won four of their last five duels in all competitions, while the other one ended in a tie.

This year, the two played one game in the Prem and the Spurs won 1:0 thanks to a goal by James Madison in the early stages. The bad news is that the playmaker won’t feature in the 2025 Europa League Final as he’s out until summer with a knee injury.

Unfortunately for the Londoners, he’s not alone on the injury list. There are a few other first-team players who might miss the May 21 game, including Lucas Bergvall and Dragusin Radu. On the bright side, Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min is expected to recover from a foot injury by then.

Europa League Odds Favor Manchester United

The Red Devils have been disappointing their fans over and over this season, although mainly in the Premier League. In the Europa League, however, they’ve been doing surprisingly well.

So far, they’ve knocked out Athletic Bilbao, Lyon, Real Sociedad, and a few other decent teams. Plus, they defeated relatively strong opponents in the league phase of the competition, most notably, Bodo/Glimt, who later went all the way to the semis only to be stopped by the Spurs.

In the Europa League, their offense has been sensational, which hasn’t been the case in other competitions. In their last five Europa League games, they scored a total of 17 goals. In comparison, the Spurs put away 10 goals in as many games.

As far as things currently stand, both Tottenham and Manchester United will finish the Premier League season just a couple of spots above the relegation zone. That’s embarrassing for both sides, but especially the Red Devils who remain one of the greatest soccer clubs in the world.

They can save their grace by winning the 2025 Europa League, which is why we expect them to go all-in on May 21. This doesn’t mean that the Spurs will surrender without a fight – on the contrary, they too will probably score a goal (or more). But we don’t think that will be enough for them to get ahold of the trophy.
