Toronto Police Arrest and Charge Poker Pro Following Reports of Sexual Assault
A Toronto-based professional poker player has been arrested and charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman, police believe there might be other victims
Toronto police have arrested the professional poker player, 39-year-old D.K. for having allegedly sexually assaulted someone during an event. D.K. met the alleged victim for the first time in Toronto at an event he himself hosted.
Allegedly, the victim was assaulted at some point during the event. On January 15, police received reports of sexual assault at Wellington and Simcoe streets, and soon after that, officers were dispatched.
A warrant was issued for a search of D.K.’s home following an investigation. The search warrant was executed on January 19, after which police took him into custody.
The Investigation Continues
D.K. is set to appear in court next week. Police believe that, if he is guilty, there might have been other victims as well. They have asked anyone with information to step forward.
The list of charges that D.K. received following his arrest includes forcible confinement, sexual assault, sexual assault with choking, possession of a Schedule III substance for trafficking, three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Other Pro-Poker Player Cases
In recent years, several professional poker players have been arrested for sexual assault crimes. L.A. was arrested back in 2017 and was charged in Indiana with rape, kidnapping, fraud, and theft.
L.A., while posing as a neurosurgeon raising money for charity, had managed to scam 4 women out of $ 70,000.
In 2025, rumors spread that he had gone back to scamming, this time targeting poker players, as reports from other players from Las Vegas and Florida began to surface.
Back in 2019, another high-profile pro-poker player, R.D., was arrested and convicted of sex crimes involving minors.
At first, R.D. attempted to represent himself; due to his“bizarre legal wrangling,” however, the judge lost patience with the man and anecdotally increased his bail from $25,000 to $500,000.
Finally, in 2020 he pled guilty to felony coercion and contributing to the delinquency of a minor and his sentencing was probation and time served.
