Tipico Becomes First US Sportsbook to Secure NCPG’s iCAP Accreditation
The accolade highlights the company’s unparalleled customer protection efforts

Tipico, a global leader in sports betting, has secured the National Council on Problem Gambling’s Internet Compliance Assessment Program accreditation (iCAP) in New Jersey and Ohio. The accolade highlights the company’s unparalleled customer protection efforts.
The accreditation aligns with the NCPG’s goal to promote safer gambling and the reduction of gambling harm. Its iCAP accreditation allows companies with robust social responsibility practices to differentiate themselves from their competitors.
The iCAP evaluation addresses companies’ self-exclusion schemes, promotions, payment methods and advertising efforts. To secure such accreditation, operators must first prove that they have a reliable governance, efficient customer support, cutting-edge employee training and noteworthy efforts in the prevention and research of gambling harm.
Tipico is notably the first US sportsbook to secure the iCAP accreditation. It managed to earn the accreditation thanks to its recently revealed Fair Play Pledge, the features of which include transparent communication of odds and promotions, betting limits and its nonstop customer service.
The certification is valid through March 2026 and reflects the company’s desire to shield players from harm. The accreditation comes just in time for National Problem Gambling Awareness Month – an initiative that celebrates safer gambling and promotes responsible play and education.
A Meaningful Award for Tipico
The executive director of the NCPG, Keith Whyte, praised Tipico Sportsbook for its iCAP accreditation, saying that this serves as a testament to the company’s dedication to player protection. The achievement, Whyte added, demonstrates Tipico’s “exemplary leadership and commitment to responsible gambling best practices.”
We commend Tipico for the unwavering commitment to the safety of their users and for setting an exemplary standard for the industry.
Keith Whyte, executive director, NCPG
Bryan Schroeder, Tipico’s senior vice president of compliance & legal, also commented on the matter, describing the iCAP accreditation as a “meaningful award.” He said that the achievement validates the company’s approach to make fair play a core part of Tipico’s DNA.
I am incredibly proud of our team for rallying around our efforts to continuously improve safety and clarity. Our primary goal is to ensure customers have the best possible experience when they place a bet because they trust us and our products.
Bryan Schroeder, SVP of compliance & legal, Tipico
In December, Tipico further strengthened its integrity initiatives with ProhiBet.
