The First One of Its Kind: NGCB Licenses Park MGM Gaming Salon

MGM International is looking to open a pioneering gaming salon at Park MGM, allowing players to record and share their gameplay

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has given MGM International the green light to pursue a new kind of gaming experience at Park MGM, a first-of-its-kind gaming salon designed with modern players and content creators in mind.

The idea grew out of Park MGM’s location near T-Mobile Arena, which has seen a surge in visitors thanks to a packed schedule of concerts, sporting events, and shows.

Addressing the General Public and Influencers

MGM believes that many of these attendees, leaving the arena after events, might be interested in stopping by the casino to play. “There’s a natural flow of individuals departing the venue that could be attracted to gamble at Park MGM afterwards,” the company noted.

Chandler Pohl, Vice President of MGM’s Regulatory Division, emphasized that the project is also tailored for streaming enthusiasts.

He explained that the salon came from “some interest in the gaming community for the recording of people’s play for their enjoyment.”

“Influencers who want to publicize their play can make a recording for broadcast or streaming, similar to popular poker events such as the World Series of Poker,” Pohl added.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Pohl described the salon as “the first one of its kind” that’s open to the public.

Copies of Gaming Sessions, Available

Patrons will be able to play, watch, and record games, and if they want, they can take home a copy of their session.

“It’s much like when you ride the roller coaster at New York-New York, afterwards you can buy a photo of yourself on the roller coaster,” he said, putting the concept into everyday terms.

This gaming salon represents a notable shift for Las Vegas, where most luxury or high-profile rooms are typically private, catering to VIPs and celebrities who prefer to avoid the spotlight.

Here, the emphasis is on social interaction, recording, and sharing experiences, bringing gaming into a more open, interactive space.

Visitors part of studio filming will need to offer their consent by signing a participation form, ensuring everyone is comfortable with being recorded.

MGM hopes this approach will appeal to both traditional gamblers and a younger, tech-savvy audience who want to combine entertainment and content creation.

The Nevada Gaming Commission is expected to consider the Gaming Control Board’s recommendation on March 26, potentially clearing the way for Park MGM’s innovative gaming salon to open its doors to the public.

If approved, it could mark the start of a new trend in how casinos engage with players and streamers alike, blending Vegas entertainment with the digital age of content sharing.
