Police in Kansas City are looking into a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday night outside Bally’s Kansas City Casino. The incident left an 18-year-old man dead and put one person in custody.

Police got a call to come to the casino at 1800 East Front Street around 9:30 p.m. after people reported hearing gunshots. When police showed up, they found a young man in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, as reported by The Kansas City Star. The officers tried to save his life while they waited for medical teams to arrive.

An ambulance took the victim to a hospital nearby, but he did not survive his injuries. Police said the victim was Aundre Harris Jr., 18 years old.

Based on initial reports from investigators, a clash involving multiple people started inside the casino. The confrontation grew more intense as those involved stepped outside to the parking lot. During the fight that followed, someone fired shots, hitting Harris.

Police caught and held a key suspect at the scene. Detectives are treating this as a murder case while they work to understand what happened before the deadly shooting.
