The wounded teen, later identified by police as 18-year-old Aundre Harris Jr., was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance, where he later died from his injuries

Police in Kansas City are looking into a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday night outside Bally’s Kansas City Casino. The incident left an 18-year-old man dead and put one person in custody.

Police Detain Suspect Following Fatal Shooting at Bally’s Kansas City

Police got a call to come to the casino at 1800 East Front Street around 9:30 p.m. after people reported hearing gunshots. When police showed up, they found a young man in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, as reported by The Kansas City Star. The officers tried to save his life while they waited for medical teams to arrive.

An ambulance took the victim to a hospital nearby, but he did not survive his injuries. Police said the victim was Aundre Harris Jr., 18 years old.

Based on initial reports from investigators, a clash involving multiple people started inside the casino. The confrontation grew more intense as those involved stepped outside to the parking lot. During the fight that followed, someone fired shots, hitting Harris.

Police caught and held a key suspect at the scene. Detectives are treating this as a murder case while they work to understand what happened before the deadly shooting.

The team is looking at security camera footage from the casino and nearby areas. They are also talking to people who might have seen or heard parts of the fight. Police hope the videos will show how the argument played out and who fired the gun.

Investigators Urge Witnesses to Come Forward in Casino Homicide

The police are asking people who were nearby when it happened to share any details that could help solve the case. Witnesses can tell detectives or use the local crime hotline without giving their name. The police mentioned that there may be a reward of up to $25,000 if anyone gives information that helps catch someone.

The shooting brings up more questions because Missouri law says only people 21 and older can go into casino gaming areas. It is not clear whether Harris was part of the first argument inside the casino or how he ended up there during the fight.

Bally’s Kansas City Casino has not said anything about what happened. The casino kept running as usual and offering its promotions after the shooting. The casino sits close to theMissouri Riveron an artificial lake, having gone through big upgrades. The place used to go by different names before Bally’s Corporation bought it and changed its name to Bally’s in 2021.
