Sweden Expels Satoshi Gaming as Company Operated Without a License
This enforcement action comes amid a broader regulatory crackdown in Sweden as Spelinspektionen, the country’s gambling regulator, tightens its grip

Sweden’s gambling authority, Spelinspektionen, has announced that Satoshi Gaming Group, which has been operating without a license, has been removed from the country’s market.
Sweden Cracks Down on Satoshi Gaming Group
Satoshi Gaming Group, a developer of crypto casino and sportsbook platforms, has been officially barred from offering any gambling services targeting Swedish players. According to Spelinspektionen, the ban resulted from an investigation that concluded the company’s operations were in breach of Swedish gambling laws. The decision underscores the regulator’s commitment to strengthening market oversight and eliminating unlicensed operators.
This enforcement action comes amid a broader regulatory crackdown in Sweden. In February, the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS) formally requested that the Ministry of Finance amend the Gambling Act, citing a legal loophole that allows offshore operators to target Swedish consumers without proper oversight.
The following month, a report by AB Trav och Galopp (ATG) highlighted the increasing presence of unlicensed betting platforms in the country. The report pointed to a persistent black-market threat and called on the government to introduce more robust preventive measures.
In response to these growing concerns, Spelinspektionen published a comprehensive report in April outlining actions to address the legal gaps identified by BOS. The report detailed the scope and accessibility of Sweden’s online black market and proposed legislative reforms to strengthen national enforcement efforts.
Since April, Spelinspektionen has been quite busy getting itself into the business of many other companies working in Sweden. For example, last week Spelinspektionen named a few operators, such as Snabbare Ltd and Betsson Nordic Ltd, which have come under the strict gaze of the Swedish regulator.
