Sportradar Teams Up with LNB for Data and Distribution Rights

Sportradar will become France’s Basketball League’s official data partner under the terms of the first deal following the acquisition of Synergy Sports.
Sportradar Becomes LNB’s Official Data Partner
Sportradar, а leading global provider of sports betting and sports entertainment products and services, announced today the extension of its agreement with French top-tier Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB). Under the terms of the multi-year deal, Sportradar will act as LNB’s official data partner.
The agreement starts with the launch of the 2021/2022 season and includes data collection and distribution, AV rights, media rights distribution and bet monitoring, automated production and streaming service, and the continuation of the OTT platform.
This is the first basketball deal for Sportradar since the acquisition of Synergy Sports in March this year. The sports data solutions supplier will use Synergy’s data collection system to collect and distribute the LNB’s in-play data. Synergy Sports provides the LNB with its innovative automated camera technology implemented into the League’s basketball facilities and is also a distribution partner for the league’s AV rights.
David Lampitt, managing director, sports content and partnerships at Sportradar, highlighted the LNB as one of the top basketball leagues in Europe and added that the company is eager to expand its relationship with the League to bolster the sport and drive new commercial opportunities.
Lampitt pointed out the strategic importance of basketball for Sportradar and added that the acquisition of Synergy Sports has extended the company’s capabilities in the realm of creation and distribution of data and video content. The deal has also enabled Sportradar to deepen its relationships with key global basketball leagues and federations, Lampitt further said.
“This new agreement is very exciting for the LNB and will expand the way we work with a trusted partner. Sportradar will now provide us with end-to-end solutions on many fronts including AV production, AV rights as well as data collection and commercialisation. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Sportradar for years to come.”
Michel Mimran, managing director, LNB
Sportradar Signs with the NHL
Prior to securing a deal with the LNB, Sportradar inked a ten-year agreement with the NHL for data distribution and live stream rights. Sportradar and the NHL have teamed up to broaden the league’s audience with the help of the tech company’s unique solutions to offer fans deeper insights into the game and enhance fan engagement.
Sportradar is an international distributor of LNB’s media rights since the 2020/21 season. It has launched the OTT platform LNB.TV, which allows fans and spectators to follow all the matches live, in summary, or as a replay. At the beginning of June, the platform exceeded 100,000 users.
