A 19-year-old murder suspect was arrested after police spent 1 month looking for him.

Joredyn Hubbard was taken in by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department after allegedly shooting and killing a man in November.

The shooting occurred during what is believed to have been a street takeover.

A press release has revealed that Hubbard was arrested on December 26. The detectives who took him in are part of the LVMPD’s Major Violator Section (MVS).

On X the LVMPD posted that they had caught Hubbard and that he was being held in the Clark County Detention Center. Charges of Open Murder have been brought up against him.

Street Takeover Claims Victim

The whole situation came to be as on November 8 Las Vegas Metro was tipped off on a possible street takeover of Patrick Lane and Decatur Boulevard.

On scene, police were approached by a woman and were informed them that there was a gunshot victim.

Sadly, the person passed away from their injuries several days later.

The LVMPD made a post on X after the shooting, where they called people out to help with any possible information.

Descriptions of the two suspects had been provided; they were described as a black male adult and “a white or Hispanic female”.

Additional information regarding the clothes the two were wearing had also been provided.

A law enforcement unit highly specialized in tracking down criminals was able to bring the killer in late December.

Not the Only Recent Street Takeover

Earlier in July 2025, several fights broke out near the Meadows Mall amusement arcade. Approximately 100 youths were involved in the mass fight.

Another incident occurred at a recent street takeover in New York when a street takeover in Queens involving multiple vehicles led to a car being set on fire and to the assault of a couple.

Law enforcement in the US has had its work cut out this year, as across the country, street takeovers have become a growing trend.

Police across the country have issued a warning that anyone caught participating in street takeovers will be “subject to arrest, and their vehicle will be impounded.”
