Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino Sued By Woman Who Was Allegedly Attacked
The off-Strip casino has been named in the complaint of a woman who claims to have been assaulted on the property
A lawsuit has been filed in the Clark County District Court on Sunday, January 25, naming the Sanfa Fe Station casino-hotel as the defendant.
The complaint argues that the property is responsible for failing to implement adequate safety protocols that resulted in the alleged assault of a female patron on the property.
Santa Fe Station Casino-Hotel Named in Lawsuit in Wake of Attack
The complaint further stipulates that the property: “failed to implement a security force/program/protocol or warning system to address reasonable safety concerns and otherwise did not exercise due care for the safety of its patrons, including (Ferlino), from the foreseeable violent actions of the assailants.”
The plaintiff, one Betty Ferlino, accuses the casino of negligent hiring, retention, supervision, and management, with the presumed attack taking place on November 15, 2025, when the two assailants approached her and attacked her physically, the complaint specified.
For her trouble, Ferlino is seeking special damages for personal injuries in an amount in excess of $15,000 as well as damages for medical expenses incurred, past and future loss of household services, past and future lost wages and loss of earning capacity, and past and future physical and mental pain and suffering, as per the complaint.
Casinos Targeted By Crime, Lawsuits Frequent
Casinos have been frequently targeted by crime and similar complaints, with patrons bringing up security concerns in lawsuits after suffering at the site of such properties.
Cyberattacks, such as the ones against MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment, also saw complaints filed by private persons and groups of people.
Casinos are likely to seek settlements out of court when they believe there are sufficient grounds for the complaints, but are also prepared to litigate if they believe they were in the right.
Back in 2021, the Santa Fe casino-hotel was the site of a shooting, with the suspect eventually arrested. In an unrelated case, a casino patron was shot at an intersection after his murderer tracked him down from the property in Ohio.
