Powerball Jackpot to Hit $228M for Wednesday Drawing

There are hours left to go until the next drawing of Powerball, America’s favorite lottery game. If a lucky person guesses correctly all five white balls along with the red Powerball from the upcoming drawing, they are in for a treat as the estimated jackpot from the game is $228 million.

This grand prize represents annual installments but if the lucky visitor prefers a lump cash sum, the grand prize would be a mouth-watering $112.6 million. Both sums are life-changing but it’s important to mention that they are before the applicable taxes.

The next Powerball drawing is set for Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 10:59 PM ET. Drawings are held at the Florida Lottery studio located in Tallahassee. Besides Wednesday, there are drawings every Monday and Saturday.

While the jackpot continues to grow, no one was lucky enough to secure a million-dollar prize from Powerball’s latest drawing on Monday. Five lottery players guessed correctly four white balls along with the red Powerball to secure a $50,000 prize each, while two took home a $250,000 Power Play prize each.

Some 181 lottery players who guessed correctly four white balls from the latest drawing secured a $100 prize each, while 89 collected a $500 Power Play prize each.

Not unexpectedly, the biggest number of winners secured the lowest prize, $4. Nearly 270,000 Powerball lottery players who guessed either the winning red Powerball or one white ball along with the red Powerball secured such a prize.

After 34 consecutive Powerball drawings without a grand prize winner, a lucky lottery player secured the jackpot at the start of this year. The lucky Michigan lottery player guessed correctly all winning numbers, securing the staggering $842 million Powerball jackpot at the time.

Mega Millions Jackpot Also on the Rise

Besides the grand prize from Powerball, the jackpot from Mega Millions is also on the rise. The Tuesday drawing of the popular game saw no one guess correctly all winning numbers. This allowed the jackpot to increase to $394 million or $188.5 million cash option. The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11 PM ET.
