Powerball Jackpot Reaches $46M for Today’s Drawing

While the jackpot remained elusive, a single player managed to match the five white numbers to win a Match 5 prize of $1 million

Fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Powerball drawing, hoping for another big windfall. While the jackpot was recently won, it has now started building up again, reaching $46 million for tonight’s drawing.

The Previous Drawing Minted a New Millionaire

The previous Powerball drawing took place last Saturday. While the jackpot remained elusive, a single player managed to match the five white numbers to win a Match 5 prize of $1 million. While Power Play 3X was active for the game, the player did not have the feature active and will therefore take home only $1 million.

It should be noted that the winner of the $1 million prize was based in Florida, where a Mega Millions player just won $4 million from the Friday drawing.

The winning Powerball numbers for the Saturday, March 7, drawing were 17, 18, 30, 50, and 68. The Powerball was 24. Matching all of them would have meant a $37 million payday ($16.9 million if a hypothetical winner had chosen the cash option).

A whopping thirteen players won the game’s third-tier prize after matching four white numbers and the Powerball. Ten of them will therefore take home $50,000 each, while the remaining 3 will take home $150,000 each instead due to Power Play.

In the meantime, the jackpot is now standing at $46 million with a cash option of $21.2 million.

Mega Millions Jackpot Survives, for Now

While the Mega Millions jackpot has remained unclaimed for some time, a lucky player in Arkansas just won the $251 million Powerball jackpot. The grand prize was hit on March 2. It is now upon the winning player to choose whether to go with the annuity and take the full sum, or pick the one-time cash option of $118 million.

In other news, the Illinois Lottery’s FastPlay Ultimate Diamond Jackpot Game just awarded a $1,694,919 jackpot to a lucky player. The win came not too long after another player won a similar sum.

In Texas, on the other hand, a lucky player won $2.4 million from the Texas Two Step game, which was the second-biggest jackpot in the game’s history. The prize was also the biggest to land in some 20 years.
