Powerball Awards Two Prizes of $1M to Lucky Players in Illinois and Montana

Illinois players, in particular, have been winning big from the lottery, considering that they also scooped up the recent Mega Million drawing’s jackpot, as well as several smaller prizes

Yesterday’s Powerball drawing failed to elect a grand winner, although that is to be expected, considering that the game’s previous jackpot was hit earlier this month. Despite that, two players won prizes of $1 million each after correctly guessing all numbers but the Powerball.

Two Players Became Millionaires

The March 11 drawing saw US lottery enthusiasts play for a grand prize of $59 million with a one-time lump sum option of $27.2 million. The drawing had the Power Play 2x multiplier active, meaning that winning Power Play players got twice the money they would otherwise have.

The winning numbers for the Wednesday drawing were 3, 6, 55, 58, and 63, while the Powerball was 12. As mentioned, no one succeeded in matching all six numbers to win the game’s top prize, but two matched the five white numbers only, winning the game’s second-tier prize of $1 million. According to Powerball, one of these winning tickets was purchased in Illinois, and the other in Montana.

Illinois players, in particular, have been winning big, considering that they scooped up the recent Mega Million drawing’s jackpot, as well as several smaller prizes.

In the meantime, the Wednesday Powerball drawing also awarded 8 third-tier prizes to players who matched four white numbers and the Powerball. These included 6 players who won $50,000 each, as well as 2 who took home $100,000 instead, thanks to Power Play.

The Powerball jackpot has now reached $75 million with a cash option of $34.6 million for the Saturday drawing.

Other Major Wins from Across the US

Several days ago, a lucky player in Texas won $2.4 million from the Texas Two Step game. It should be noted that this was the second-biggest jackpot in the game’s history, and also the biggest to land since the unbeaten record in 2006.

In North Carolina, a dad who was visiting his daughter casually bought a lottery ticket and was surprised when he won some $400,000.

Elsewhere, a ticket sold in Berks County, Pennsylvania, made its owner $2.5 million richer.
